Leigh and District Cottage Garden Society Junior Group

The group is for children aged 8 to 12 years, run by volunteers who aim to share their love of gardening with younger members of the Leigh community. 'Hands on' meetings take place between 10.30 and 12.00 noon on every Saturday at a garden in Leigh. Each youngster has a plot in their own garden to practise the skills acquired at the meetings, for example, seed growing, transplanting, dividing plants and pruning. Vegetables and flowers are also grown. The cost is 50p per meeting, which includes seeds and plants to grow in their own gardens. Contact: Vivienne and Brian Boustred 01306 611388.
